Jason Modopoulos played left wing for the Stampede during the 1997–1998 season. He appeared in five games and accumulated 34 penalty minutes as the club finished with 40 wins and 86 points under new coach Lee Norwood, qualifying for the playoffs for the second straight year. Modopoulos was later traded to Amarillo.
