Jamie Hearn spent three seasons on the Stampede blue line, arriving mid-season from Waco in 1997-98 and becoming a fixture through the franchise's two strongest years. The right-shooting defenseman accumulated 313 penalty minutes over 136 games, a reflection of the physical style the team played under successive coaches. His best offensive season came in 1998-99, when he posted 14 goals and 46 assists for 60 points across 67 games, ranking among the top scoring defensemen in the WPHL that year. He carried that production into the Stampede's championship season of 1999-2000, adding 43 more points while the defense held opponents to a franchise-low 187 goals. He also contributed in the 1999-2000 playoff run, recording two assists in a 6-3 road victory over Shreveport in the President's Cup Semifinals.
