Chris Fawcett spent two seasons as a right wing for the Central Texas Stampede, appearing in 118 games and finishing with 39 goals, 42 assists, and 81 points — one of the more consistent offensive contributors on the roster. He arrived for the 1998-99 season under coach Glen Williamson, scoring in a variety of situations including a first-period goal against the touring Russian squad in December 1998. In 1999-2000, Fawcett was part of the Stampede's historic 50-win campaign, contributing throughout the regular season and stepping up in the playoffs: in a must-win Game Three of the President's Cup Semifinals at Shreveport, he notched a goal and an assist as the Stampede rallied from two games down with a 6-3 road victory. Across both seasons he kept his penalty minutes modest, totaling just 35 PIM in 118 games.
